lied and said he was calling on behalf of Microsoft Bing (search engine). I googled the phone number while he was on the line and started reading off the bad reviews about people at this number and then said "I'm hanging up now". Thanks to all of you for posting about these scammers. number is now blocked as well

Has now phoned 300 times in 8 days. States his name is James from Yahoo but it is actually Interserve. Attempted to sell but I said no. At this point he was rude abusive and threatening saying that if I did not say yes he was going to kill myself and my wife. Be careful. Call is dangerous.

Infoserve scammers. Selling useless rankings on Bing and Yahoo. Waste of money. High pressure multiple sales calls and will not no for an answer.

What is it with these douchebags? 'We're from Yahoo'. No you're not, while you're on the phone I do a quick Google check and find out you;re lying. Get lost, just wasting everyone's time and the end result is you get no business.

Someone called from this number, claiming to be from Yahoo. They claimed they were updating their listings and wanted to talk to person who deals with it.
We mentioned they would need to be contacted via e-mail. They advised if couldnt clarify they would remove listing from Yahoo.

A search on their number 01325 254390 reveals it's a company called Infoserve trying to sell search engine advertising.

If you have no idea who it is how can you say its a scam?    I used to work for this company, yes its a sales call but certainly not a scam.    These people have a contract with Yahoo to supply the YahooLocal results.    It will get you decent rankings and visitors (to an extend) but your conversion rate will need to be sharp in order this to be a profitable solution.    Worth a punt.

People have reported that this number belongs to both of these companies - this is not true!

I called up both of these companies and they said it is not associated with them. I also have absolutely nothing to do with either company - so why would they call me?

The first time they called they pretended to be HSBC, I refused to give them my information as I'm not even with them anymore - HSBC would have known this if they were real.

The second time this number pretended to be the tax office for me, asked for my date of birth and my national insurance number. It's quite clear that this company is not real if the same number represents multiple big time companies and the tax office. (Tax office numbers are always withheld, anyway)

Do not give away your information to them. Let's work to shut this number down and find out the people who are scamming. The next person they call could be an elderly who has no idea of such scams...

They must be stopped!!

Someone called John just called from this number, claiming to be from Yahoo. He claimed they were updating their listings and wanted to show me my new listing to make sure I was happy with it.

Quick search of the number reveals it's a company called Infoserve trying to sell search engine advertising. I don't do business with people who lie to me and would suggest others avoid them too on this basis.
