Usual scam - spoofed number to lower my credit card rates.
Her accent sounded domestic - so, for a change, it is not coming from overseas.

I missed their call and called them back & got some recording saying I had recently visited their website & I was eligible for a $100 rewards redemption card.    You can press some numbers to continue or be taken off their calling list.

This is one of the hundreds of phone numbers that this bottom feeder, Portfolio Recovery, uses.

Been receiving voicemails at home from an auto caller asking for my mother-in-law. I ignored the calls. I then received a voicemail from a James Stewart going into more detail regarding the urgency for my mother-in-law to call back due to a pending case, legal matters, blah blah blah. Since this is a Kansas # and we are in CA I had to wait until the following day to call back. When I did, the person who answered the call, put me on hold and picked up again sounded one in the same. But, now I was talking to "James Stewart". I explainded to Mr Stewart that he was trying to get a hold of my mother-in-law and to stop calling my residence since she is in another city and we have no contact with her. He wanted her phone number which I stated I did not have but then he read off a SSN# Like I'm suppose to know if that's really hers or not. PLEASE! He read off her address and I told him he had her address so communcate with her that way but stop calling my residence. We'll see...Annoying! Mr. Stewart sounded a little ingnorate after he told to asks not ask my mother-in-law to call him. Sure, I'll get on that right away!

They call daily and I don't answer. I answered yesterday and she asked for me by my first name, and said it was a "college matching program". I am appalled. I just moved here and have had this number ONE WEEK. Absolutely nobody has this number other than my daughter, my dad and the telephone company...and I mean NOBODY. I told her that, and that I don't know how they found me but to never ever call again and hung up. They have called several times so far today. I will be blocking this number. Maybe the phone company is up to something shady...I am paying for an unlisted number too.

This caller didn't leave a message. When I called back, they were talking about giving away hundreds of dollars to send me on a weeks vacation with perks. Just sounds like a hoax. They give you the option to opt out, but by entering your number, most calls save it to call you back so I didn't enter mine in.

Portfolio Recovery Collection Agency!!!    They call from many different numbers and from what I can gather they are a fraud!!!    Do Not give them any information than they already have.    Want bank account numbers only..will not email you or take credit cards.    Total scam!!!

I have received several calls from this number, if I let it go to voicemail, they do not leave a message, just dead air. If I answer, no one speaks and they disconnect...I am getting very annoyed with them taking up my voicemail! I have tried to call the number back and it is a busy signal EVERY TIME! I looked the number up using several reverse number searches, but without paying I was unable to get a name. All I found out with those is that it was a landline from Emporia, KS, another said it was a cell number, and here it says it is from Garden City, KS and it is a landline? I am confused and angry. If anyone else knows anything about this I would love some feed back.
