This is for Global Tel-Link which is a service setup for people in prisons and detention centers to make calls to people when they don't have any money.    If you accept the call, you have to pay for the cost of the call.    It may also show on your caller ID as (800) 483-8314 or some other number.

I called the number back & was asked to give them my address & last 4 numbers of my social security number. I refused to give the information & started to question her. I asked her to give me the mobile number that they were calling about. The "lady" became hostile with me so I hung up. She called right back & I did not answer. I called Verizon's billing department & told them about the call - the said it was a phishing scam & promptly transferred me to their fraud department.

Called for someone I don't know.    I called back after their call hung up on me and told them to stop calling and harassing me.    They said they'd take my number out of their system.

Anyone ever receive a call from this number? 713-401-9031 The guy called stating to be from legal affairs, initially trying to obtain information about someone that I don't know in order to collect a debt. It appears to be a collection company apparently breaking multiple laws under the FDCPA.

I don't believe its legal to call someone and tell them about someone else's debt and how they can reach them. Seems slightly illegal to me! This number is a landline originating in Texas. Anyone else have any calls from this number "713-401-9031"? I would love to hear your story

I just received a call from this number also. I googled it and came up with all of your responses. I'm happy I didn't answer. I am going to report this number to the Federal Trade Commission and the DoNotCall. gov list. Then I will also file a complaint with the state trade commission and the better business bureau. I would advise everyone to do the same.

Yes, they are a debt collecting agency.    ITS EASY TO SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM,    I did it in just 2 days.

First of all its illegal to call on a debt that is over 4 years old in Texas.    And they are aware of this.    So I just turned it around by calling them several times in a day asking for their local address, then going postal on them, what you are doing is illegal, you are scamming people, you have no rights calling me on this. Yes I am psycho,    after the 5 th or 6th call to them they take me off their list.    Yes they can call you give the BS but they can't take it back.    I even asked them if they sleep at night , they will say yes but when I asked them "do you do this to your grandparents, to your mother and father. They say nothing except I can take you off the list

The debt they were calling about was going on 7 years. I have a law firm handling this debt so these people were clueless as to what they are doing.    They are just fishing in a big pond hoping to intimate the weak.

Don't let that be you
