This is for Global Tel-Link, which is a service setup for people in prisons and detention centers to make calls.    The call could be coming from any center and you pay for the call.
It may also come in on your caller ID as (713)981-0098.

this is for Global Tel-Link.    It is a service setup for people in prisons and detention centers so they can make out going calls to people when they have no money.    You have to accept the call and pay for the call.

The caller is Duke Energy.    The call is a courtesy call to
remind the customer that the billing cycle and meter reading dates are changing as of the next bill.    I know that this is
accurate information because the same information was
included with our most recent bill from Duke Energy.

A word of caution, though.    When I googled this number,
I came across a FRAUD ALERT on the Duke Energy
website.    Apparently, people are misrepresenting
themselves as employees of or contractors for Duke
Energy.    The scam phone calls vary but a couple of them
are:    threatening the customer with an overdue bill of
shutting of service immediately if the customer does not
pay the "Duke rep" on the phone.    Another scam is
telling the customer that they can have their bills lowered
or eliminated with the "help" of the person misrepresenting
him/herself as Duke Energy rep.    Apparently, some people
have been scammed for a tidy sum of money.    Duke
Energy recommends calling them directly to verify such
calls and/or contacting the police.

The bank takes hundreds of dollars off me for service charges yet they do nothing about this.    Calls originated in the USA, then why don't they use some of the bail out money (millions) they got from the Amercan government for thier US branches to put a stop to this.

They called for my brother who lives with me but this is my cell phone. They say they need information before transferring a file. Sounds like a bill collector to me..

For EVERYONE: Harassment in Texas can be very costly to bill collectors. I Already sued one bill collector for harassment, threatening with promises not kept, along with other kinds of legal threats that are not possible or legal including taking money from my bank account without my authorization (the bank can recover that taken money in most cases if it was taken without consent or agreement or arrangement). See your local, state, and federal laws on this matter and consult an attorney. I won my case and wiped a 1k debt clean from my bill collector as well as settled out of court for $8k all because of their practices that were against the law.

In other words, don't let the bill collectors stress you out cause you can't do anything about it. You can, and I did.. Just have to find the right attorney at the right price. My case was contingent based on evidence from the phone calls recorded on a recorder he provided me. Remember back to local and state laws. Texas allows recording a conversation as long as one person on the call knows it is being recorded. I did, so the bill collector by state law did not need to know which is how I got them here.

This is a scam. DO NOT give your information. I have reported to PNC. Scammers often comment on these types of sites stating that this is legitimate, check for yourself, it IS NOT.

Caller stated my PNC Bank card was compromised. I checked with PNC and this is in fact a legitimate service that detects suspected fraudulent activity on your bank card.

I've never done business with them and my cell has been on the do not call list for years. They've sent illegal text and then called 5 times in one day. I called them back but they hung up several times. Chris, the owner was an arrogant prick that wasn't about to help. The way they treat people, they should be put out of business

I got a call from an "Unknown" number.    The caller (automated recording) left me a voicemail stating that I have an overdue, unpaid bill from Neurology Associates.    I was instructed to call them back at 1-800-647-6822 and that the bill is due immediately.

***I do not have any unpaid medical bills, so I know this call is bogus.
