This was "Joe" from Everest U. I filed a BBB complaint against Corinthian Colleges (their parent company) in CA for violating the National Do-Not-Call Registry ("Sales Practice Issue"), with the requested resolution that they (and any companies they use to drive sales leads to them) adhere to all of the strictures of the NDNCR.
Give it a try - it is probably the only way to stop the telemarketer scum that disregard the NDNCR...

Trying to determine if this number is a scam/virus. I am getting email from it that I am not opening because I do not recognize the number.

This bunch has been calling me since 2011... since they keep trying but never leave a msg, never speak when we pick up, etc... I believe it's the Callback Scam. They want to plant a virus in your cellphone, which cannot happen via voicemail. What they need is for YOU to connect. If you pick up, or call 'em back, then the virus is planted in a split second. Then they get every shred of info out of your celly. If they call your landline it's only because they don't know it's a landline.

These are SCAMMERS.    Only SCAMMERS need to use
a SPOOFED NUMBER.    This scam is the "energy" scam:
caller says different things:    can lower your energy bills,
sales pitch for solar panels, your energy bill is overdue,
you need to pay your energy bill RIGHT NOW, etc. etc.
DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING THAT YOU SEE IN YOUR
CALLER ID.    Scammers use simple and inexpensive
"apps" to make anything appear in the Caller ID.    Some
of the "names" appearing in Caller ID have been: Social
Security, Medicare, VFW, BBB, Clerk of the Court,
The Name of Your Local Energy Company, Sheriff's
Office, Local Police Department, IRS, etc. Don't pick
up the phone.

This phone number is SPOOFED.    Different messages
being left from the same phone number:    sometimes caller
identifies as representing a company called Energy
Awareness.    Other calls are regarding supposed help
with your electric bills.    Yet other times, the caller says
that your electric bill is past due and service will be cut
off immediately unless you pay up (right now with your
credit card).    SCAM.

This is likely a SCAM call.    The number that the caller is
using is a SPOOFED NUMBER.    Legitimate callers do
not need to use spoofed numbers.    Did not pick up. Msg
left regards "free" energy audit inside your home and sales pitch for solar panels.    Don't pick up.

The calls coming from this phone number are likely a SCAM.
Many people are reporting these calls with the following in
their caller ID: Louise Moreau, Matthew, Pierce and Lloyd
(commercial debt recovery specialists) and Florida.

This sounds very similar to the warning from the BBB regarding SCAMMERS who are using the phone numbers of regular people and small businesses in an attempt to
entire people into picking up the phone.

Sadly, Louise Moreau and Matthews, Pierce and Lloyd
have most probably joined the ranks of other people
and businesses who have also had their phone numbers
recently hi-jacked (spoofed):    a florist in cape coral, FL;
a florist in naples, FL; a child care center in Zephyrhills,
Fl, a 77 year old man in venice, FL; an 86 year old woman
in Haines City, FL; a carpet business in fort myers, FL
and an Italian family business in tampa, fl.
Don't answer your phone no matter what the caller ID
says.

Could be telemarketer or scam.    Number is listed as
spoofed.    Caller wants information about current energy
use and to make apt to enter your home for an energy
analysis.    Not gonna happen.

On Amazon they have call blocker that actually works with high ratings. vCpr 107 and V201
work in the USA. 200 prerecorder numbers and allows up to 1000 numbers also I believe you can wildcard block certain type numbers. They are a British company.
http://www.amazon.com/CPR-Call-Blocker-V201-Capacity/dp/B00GZM6FBU/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1392836162&sr=8-5&keywords=call+blocker

I would use nomorobo.com if it worked in my area.

813-324-6618 is a SPOOFED NUMBER.    See Caller
Complaints website for more information.    Other callers saying that they are being asked information about their electric bills, etc.    Who needs to use a spoofed number unless you are
trying to hide something?
