Newest comments in Area Code 858

caller said from microsoft certified cyber security, --threatened to shutoff my email account if I did not give them access to my computer, (same old line)
the guy I talked to had me go to wikipedia and lookup "koobface virus" he said if I can see that it says info about the virus, I have it on my computer and only he can remove it now, (I can see how common people could fall for this scam)
Please be aware -    no one Honest will ever call you by phone about a virus on your computer - only criminals will

This definitely sounds like a SCAM.    The area code is
San Diego, CA but nothing in Caller ID is to be believed
anymore.    Caller could be calling from anywhere.    The
caller identifies with any number of organizations - all
from the same phone number:    Food For The Hungry,
St. Jude, Salvation Army, Holt International, ECO California, Habitat for Humanity, etc.

A couple of weeks ago, the same kind of calls were
being reported from another SPOOFED telephone
number, 877-291-1624:    Medicare, VFW, St. Jude,
Holt International, Campus Crusade for Christ, Salvation
Army, etc.     Sounds like these are the same people....
just with a different phone number.    SCAM

they called my cell and left clicking on my voicemail. I had to pay to call and hear clicks. 5 times in a row oct. 10th 2013.
I don't know who it is. clicking isn't leaving a message. they wasted my money on my dumb cell phone, and I don't know where they got my number since I don't give it out.

This number has been calling my cell phone 2x a day since 5/4/2013. No one on the other line. Probably a robo call.

so was it on 7-1-2009? Or 1-7-2009? You can't even keep your false story right. So on one blog you call yourself Jane and then Reagan?

First of all its spelled, "coward." Secondly who takes out money before they've even seen a product? Thirdly, why do you have no description of the suspect? What did he look like? Did you file a police report? Who gets robbed and doesn't file a police report? This is obviously just slander.

Call to ask to see if we were still located at a specific address...I told her "no" and then she wanted our new address and I asked who's calling and she said something about "Commercial Realtor" - and I told her we were not interested...she said "fine - you can give it to me or not" and I said again we were not interested and she again said she wasn't trying to sell us something....we hung up.

Greetings, This is Nick and that is my sale associates line. You submitted an online inquiry for an interest in mortgage options. With that submission you acknowledged and agreed to receive incoming calls from legitimate licensed mortgage institutions in the United States. I cannot speak on behalf of the other institutions and this number is my direct line from my institution. they were giving you a courtesy call to get a hold of you and update your file. Since you never answered or gave us your input we cannot take you off our data base until we have verified and found a file matching your description. Give us a call and we can view more options in refinancing with no obligation or discuss matters of these incoming phone calls. Thank you.

This is Union Bank of CA. It is not necessarily their collections department. I have an active mortgage application with them and they called to confirm some of my info. Not a sales call.
