Man claiming to be from the technical department of British Telecom (which is not our provider) and wanted to check internet connection. Hung up when I said I was writing down the details. Undoubtedly a scam.

Claims to be Sharon from TalkTalk.    They seem to think that is my ISP.    As they ring several times a week, usually from 02088888888 I just blew my whistle down the phone.

called 15.10 15/10/13. asked for me by name, advised his name was James. Asked if I would do a short survey saying he was from UK survey company. Declined. Presume calling from outside Uk as I am registered with TPS.

They called me at 7.55 pm.    Don't know who it is, but when you try to call back you get "number not recognised", so presumably they don't want to be identified . .

Keep on getting calls from this number, form a very rude lady trying to "fish" me for information, and after I refused to give personal information to this person, she kept on calling me and hanging up when I answer.

They are trying to get you to install their anti-malware scanning software.    Whatever you do, don't!    the software they get you to download IS malware!

I don't know the exact nature of the software they want you to install as I gave them an earful and put the phone down.    I do know it's a scam and think they effectively get you to infect your PC when running their scanning software (which of course reports your PC is infected with terrible, life threatening viruses!) so they can then sell you further software to remove it!

Have fun with them and (if you have time to waste) waste their time, just don't install what they're offering!

This number calls and never leaves a message, but, today my wife picked up and a guy with dialect from India. He stated that our computer keeps sending him a ping with our IP address and he works for some company called Utah Micro corp. He did not give a name or a true number. The caller ID always shows as unknown and they have been calling all week.

Call-centre call to a TPS registered line; asked for person here by initials and surname but had swapped Mr/Mrs over.

When asked who they were, they repeatedly asked who I was and when I insisted they say who they were, they said 'No'.

Told them to f--- off and hung up.

Had an earlier call almost identical to this one, except that was number witheld.

called and said they were british tading consumers and wanted to check my address and ask for personal detials using a survey as a excuse to get them.    When i reversed the questions they tried to avoid answering by repeating what they wanted and when i kept asking for propper detials from them, ie: name, base company, how they got my number, where they got the address they wre asking if it was my address..    they hung up the phone and never called back..     They where a asian accent on the phone and certiianly not a british number like they cliamed to be calling from!!!

Nuisances who ring several times a day, and have phoned around 70-100 times in one month alone. When you pick up, either it is dead or an automated voice tells us to ring them back - but why should we, when we have no idea who they are? They ring every single day of the week, from 8am to 10pm.    They are such a nuisance, we have pulled the landline phone out of the wall socket and are negotiating with our phone company to either change our number, or get rid of the landline altogether. We are registered with the TPS, but this makes no difference.

Thanks for this info. Good call to ask for a supervisor. I've just had a call from this number and was told it was Lloyds. They asked for DOB, but didn't give it. I was then told to sort out the matter asap. I said I would, not knowing what matter he was referring to. He then insisted on knowing when I would sort the matter out. I said soon and told him I didn't want to continue with the call. Call ended, but I felt slightly invaded at 21:30 on a Friday evening.
